"There are not enough words, nor are there words adequate enough to express my profound, heartfelt and truly deepest thanks and sincere appreciation to everyone at ServiceMaster. I’m sure you’ll recall it was only about two weeks ago that I was literally standing in inch-deep water throughout my facility. Until you’ve experienced it first-hand, one cannot know the sense of grief, loss, anger, frustration, fear, anxiety, devastation and ultimately, overwhelming hopelessness at seeing something you have spent years and most of your money creating, nurturing and working countless hours a week to make succeed literally being washed away in a matter of moments. I honestly thought life as I knew it anyway, had just ended. Thankfully, you all proved me wrong and in just eight days. Truly amazing! It seemed like no sooner had you walked in the door then suddenly you were all going to work. I have remodeled a lot of houses, worked with a number of contractors and have also been involved in supervising the build-outs of four of these facilities and I can say without hesitation I’ve never witnessed a crew that worked so quickly and efficiently while at the same time doing such great work. Also astonishing was the level of communication with me on the part of everyone involved. I always knew what you were doing, why and how long it would take. There were also some unexpected and very pleasant surprises along the way, including the way you packed everything up, brought it back completely cleaned (including items that weren’t even involved in the initial event) and even took the time to put things back together. After that, a cleaning crew showed up; another unexpected surprise. And even after all of that, you were all still asking me if there was more you could do to help. Beyond the miracle you managed to accomplish here, what impressed me the most was the sense of genuine concern and empathy I felt on the part of everybody I encountered. Each person seemed genuinely concerned not only for the welfare of the business itself, but for me personally. You all were my support network throughout this entire ordeal. I know you believe you’re in the restoration business and you may think that means repairing drywall, removing smoke damage, extracting water, painting, cleaning and everything else associated with that. And while it’s true you do those things, it’s my personal hope that you all understand that you’re really in the business of restoring lives and spirits -- with your encouragement, positive attitude & support, and I hope and when you go home after what I know are long work days, that knowledge will make you proud, give you a deep sense of satisfaction and provide you the energy to get up and do it all again the next day for yet another human who feels their life has just been devastated.
